SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Do not operate machine with dull blade.
  2. The hose should never be forced into the blade or cut without the proper bend radius. Forcing the hose into the blade will cause excessive friction heat and reduce the life of the blade and may cause blade to break.
  3. The blades must be inspected periodically for edge sharpness and edge fractures.
  4. Lubrication used when cutting will enable blades to last longer.
  5. Wear safety glasses at all times when cutting hose.

Pros and Cons of Large Blades vs Small Blades and Scallopped vs Beveled:

  • Larger blades and Scallopped Blades dissipate the heat better and last longer.
  • Smaller Blades and Beveled Blades get hotter faster, will become dull quicker.
  • Larger Blades and Scallopped Blades are more expensive to replace.
  • Small Blades and Beveled Blades are cheaper to replace.

Ultimately your machine will only fit a certain size blade. When looking for a new Hydraulic Hose Cut off Saw, a larger blade machine will cost more up front but will cost less in the long term to run because of the length of use of the blades. When given the choice between scalloped or beveled, the scalloped blade will always be more expensive but will give you a cleaner cut.
